What does it mean to be contented? To have that warm glow of satisfaction inside? To be accepting of what we have, and do not have? I think this post is going to be more questions than answers. But my desire as I write this is to invite us to think in a way that leads us to a place of contentment. Are we being influenced by the subtle, yet relentless messages, that to own more in the way of wealth and possessions will satisfy us? Are we feeling the pressure to appear to be perfect? Can contentment and satisfaction be found in the most simple of experiences? Such as watching the sunrise or sunset, slowing down and appreciating the beauty around us, showing kindness to others, helping someone in need, curling up with a warm blanket and a book etc. If contentment can be found in the simple pleasures of life, then we would be more prone to feeling contented. If however contentment is found in places and experiences that are more elusive, then we may find ourself lacking. How can we find contentment today?
