Do you have what you are looking for?

Sometimes we can spend years searching for something. We persevere with great passion, using our focus, energy, time, and concentration in this pursuit. The thought will not go away. The ideas keep coming. The search goes on and on. We may go around in circles trying the same thing over and over. Surely, if I just gave it one more try, it would work? And certainly there is space for this mindset, especially when inventing or creating. But what if we are looking for what we want, and need, in the wrong direction, or place? What if we already have what it is that we are looking for, but we did not realize it? What if the solution is right in front of us, within easy grasp?

Was our search futile? Why did we spend so much time and effort on our search, only to find out that we had been looking in the wrong place? Indeed that can be extremely frustrating and deflating. But there is a silver lining to this cloud. When we do identify the true source of our need, there is a deep comfort to be found there. Finally our search is over, and we can rest.

Take some time to ponder what it is that you are looking for, and how it can be found. Be open to looking at life through a different perspective, or making some adjustments, and you may find that you need search no longer, because your needs have already been provided for.
