What does it mean to be influential?

Influence begins with those closest to us. Our family. Our closest friends, and our co-workers. The people that we spend the most time with. It can be so easy to believe that influence is measured by numbers, but it is more accurately actually measured by real and lasting change. We often have a choice before us. It is choosing between influencing a small group of people in a deep and profound way, or influencing a large group of people in a small and shallower way. Of course it is possible to do both. To love our family and friends, and to influence large groups of people. But when faced with a choice, what will we choose?

It is also good to remember that when we profoundly affect a life for the better, that this person in turn will affect those around them. And so the effect of your love will spread further than you could ever reach yourself.
