When did I learn to be patient? It was in the little daily things of life. Though I have not yet reached 40, my childhood years were different in so many ways than what is a reality today. There was no internet, and no cell phones. My school teacher wrote with chalk on a blackboard, and recorded attendance in a paper book. I travelled most places on foot, or using public transport, as is common in the UK. Is this post about technology? No. I am writing this using the internet, and I have a cell phone. It is about our attitudes. It may be that we could become too used to having what we want at the click of a button. Could it be that the advantages of technology, have also led us to become less patient with each other? Do we need to embrace the moments in life when we need to wait, so that the fruit of patience can grow in us? Would that affect how we relate to each other? For all we all need to receive patience, it is the breeding ground for peace, and stability. And am I patient all the time? No. Especially when it is at the end of the day, or week of being a stay at home Mum, and I have given out so much of myself to my two precious little people. But my goal is to be as patient as I can be.
