As I look through my window pane, I ponder.
I ponder on shared experiences, and the extremes of our realities.
To some there are endless hours of quiet as the whirl of social activity grinds to a halt.
For others their days seem endless as they work tirelessly to look after the needs of others.
Our appreciation grows as we see clearly those whom we all depend upon.
Our priorities shift as what comes into view is a reality check of what really matters.
We can’t deny the suffering, but we also see a rainbow in the storm, and it points us to a brighter day.
There is beauty in the midst of the dark grey clouds.
To some this is like a sabbatical, a time to gather their thoughts. To some a time where they ache for human contact again, where comfort is needed for their hearts.
To some it is a time to lean into an endless supply of grace as their feet barely touch the floor, because the demands are never ending. For them it is a time to grab the moments of refreshing and rest when they momentarily appear.
People are pulling together instead of apart. We may have thought we were so different from each other, but are we really? The truth is that we are all the same. Humans aware of our fragility but with a beauty and strength that is inspirational and courageous. There is a brighter day coming in our tomorrow, and it is going to be beautiful.
